VAV H2S Underground Pipeline

VAV H2S Underground Pipeline

Industry: Industrial Process

PROJECTS

Scope of Work

CCI partnered with our industrial client to provide the underground pipeline and tie-in of a H2S VAV System at a local Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility in Wayne County, Michigan. The RNG facility pumps landfill gas into the facilities process equipment and distributes the gas into the main utility line.

The scope of work included all site civil excavation, installation of underground HDPE piping, condensate knockout, VAV containers, condensate sump and above ground stainless steel piping. CCI’s self-perform civil division performed all mechanical excavation, concrete placement, sump encasement, pipe supports and equipment setting. In addition, CCI managed the piping and electrical scope of work including all grounding, quality testing and commissioning services.

Due to the plant being constructed prior to the underground scope of work, site constraints presented challenges with access and underground interferences. In order to maintain efficiency and preserve existing utilities, hydro-excavation was performed in critical areas along with company-owned rigging and civil equipment.

The project team executed the installation ahead of schedule without disruption to plant operation or other trade contractors. With a strong work history in civil construction and energy infrastructure projects, our client received the confidence and reliability in executing in accordance to the project specifications and tolerances.
